Staycation Campaign Encourages Saint Lucians to Rediscover our Island

On November 29th, a new integrated marketing campaign will inspire the local population, to rediscover Saint Lucia, by booking a staycation. Whether taking a romantic vacation, a family adventure, a celebration with friends or just looking to explore all that our island has to offer – There are perfect staycation accommodation options all over the island.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), Thaddeus M. Antoine, noted, “There is a plethora of beautiful nature, scenic surroundings, and epic adventures for our people to enjoy, right here in Saint Lucia. We are excited that fully vaccinated Saint Lucians can once again stay at any property on the island.

Working together with the accommodation providers, our ‘Rediscover Saint Lucia’ Campaign will showcase unmatched discounts for locals. This initiative will help to reduce the impact caused by the fallout from the global pandemic and support our smaller properties return to a sense of normalcy.

I encourage every Saint Lucian to take advantage of these great offers to rediscover our island and take photos and create short videos and share with the world.”

“Our new ‘Rediscover’ campaign highlights fantastic food, relaxation, romance, adventure and the unmatched hospitality across Saint Lucia. By taking a staycation, our local population can lightly pack while enjoying a world-class experience,” said Christopher Gustave, Marketing Manager, Caribbean & Events – Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. “Our messages on TV, radio and social media will get the population excited about revisiting hotels, especially our locally-owned indigenous properties.”

The marketing campaign begins November 29th and runs for six weeks, on radio, television and social media. The ads will feature ideas for rediscovering Saint Lucia, encouraging Saint Lucians to follow @caribcation and visit caribcation.org for the best deals on accommodations.

Locals are encouraged to share their local adventures on social media to win prizes, by tagging @Caribcation and using the hashtag #StaycationSaintLucia.

As part of Covid-19 protocols, fully vaccinated locals can stay at any property on the island. In addition, all hotel and villa service staff must be fully vaccinated to serve locals.

Caribcation, a marketing brand of Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, focusses on staycations and welcoming Caribbean visitors to Saint Lucia.
