Highlights from the Diamond Jubilee Cricket Rematch – Jamaica XI vs. Trinidad & Tobago XI

The Diamond Jubilee Cricket Rematch between Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago was held on Saturday, 19th August 2023, at Andrew McCandless Park, in Brampton.

Last year’s cricket match – which was rained out, was held in observance of Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica’s 60th Anniversary of Independence.

The match was replayed in a thrilling and charged atmosphere, where cricket enthusiasts and team supporters enjoyed an exhilarating day of action.

Chair of the Caribbean Consular Corps – Consul General Henry Mangal bowled the symbolic first ball to open the game. Consuls General of Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Guyana were also in attendance.

Trinidad & Tobago won the toss and elected to bat, posting 126 for 7, in 20 overs, and Jamaica replied with 128 for 6, in 19 overs, to win the match and capture bragging rights.
