The Caribbean Consular Corps Celebrates CARICOM’s 51st Anniversary in Toronto, Canada

[Toronto, ON] — The Caribbean Consular Corps at Toronto celebrated the 51st Anniversary of CARICOM, with a Flag Raising Ceremony, on Wednesday, 03rd July 2024, at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario – Queen’s Park, at 12:00 noon.

The CARICOM Flag Raising Ceremony was graciously chaired by the Consul General of Antigua and Barbuda – Ms. Ann-Marie Layne.

Consul General Henry W. Mangal gave stirring remarks, saluting the founding fathers of CARICOM, outlining CARICOM’s achievements, and proclaiming CARICOM’s global leadership, on a number of major issues.

Ontario Legislative Assembly Representatives: Hon. Patrice Barnes, Hon. Andrea Hazell and Hon. Charmaine Williams – who all have Caribbean roots – also congratulated CARICOM, and pledged their continued support for Caribbean causes that are within their mandates.

The CARICOM Flag was proudly hoisted by Consul General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Toronto – Mrs. Tracey Ramsubagh-Mannette.

Several other Consuls General, dignitaries, and CARICOM nationals were on hand, for this momentous occasion.
