Annual Concession on Barrel Imports Now in Effect (November 01, 2024 to February 28, 2025)

Cabinet by Conclusion No. 880 of 2024 approved the granting of concessions on barrels imported for the 2024 Christmas Season in accordance with the following terms and conditions:

  1. 100% waiver of customs duty on personal items, food, clothing, toys and other household consumables, contained in barrels imported during the period of 01st November 2024 to 28th February 2025.  Electronic items are explicitly excluded.
  2. The number of barrels that qualify for the concessions be limited to two (2) per household;
  3. An upper limit of EC$3,000.00 per barrel on the value of items qualifying for the concessions;
  4. The items identified in Clause No. 1 must be for personal use only and not for commercial use; and
  5. The usual penalties, fines, etc. to apply if the goods are used for commercial purposes.

Parliament also approved the exemption from Value Added Tax (VAT) and the Health and Citizen Security Levy on barrels imported during the same period.
