December 5, 2025 – Honourable Philip J. Pierre was sworn in as Saint Lucia’s 9th Prime Minister, securing a second consecutive term and becoming the only leader in two decades to be re-elected.
In his address, Prime Minister Pierre called for the start of a New Ethos, a national reset grounded in empathy, respect, unity, and responsible public dialogue. A gentler, more tolerant Saint Lucia that chooses upliftment over division.
He outlined his priorities for the new term: expanding the Youth Economy, accelerating the Digital Economy, widening lifelong learning, advancing the Blue Economy, and strengthening tourism.
His agenda also includes debt curtailment and major national investments, completing the Hewanorra International Airport upgrade, modernising seaports, improving the island’s water infrastructure, and constructing a new national police headquarters.
With a renewed mandate from the people, Prime Minister Pierre pledged to lead with equity, dignity, and discipline and to build a Saint Lucia where every citizen can share in the nation’s progress.
