The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts cordially invites you to a FREE Canada Day Concert, with the internationally acclaimed band “Saint O”, on Saturday, 01st July 2023.
The Afro-Caribbean Jazz/world music concert will be held at 1300 Elgin Mills Rd. E., Richmond Hill, ON L4S 1M5, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Est.
The Toronto-based band “SAINT O” was founded by Drummer/Percussionist Jermaine “Rajow” St. Omer, a Saint Lucian national, who was the former drummer for the renowned “Tru-Tones” band in Saint Lucia.
After immigrating to Canada, Jermaine continued pursuing his music abilities, by enrolling at the Ontario College of Percussion, while performing with a host of bands in and around Toronto.
The band has a huge fan base, especially in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, where the group toured for almost 15 years.
The band returned in 2013 and has been a staple in the Jazz circuit, in Toronto, performing with their unique blend of Jazz standards, arranged with a Caribbean island flavour – at Jazz Festivals such as The New Market Jazz Festival, The World of Jazz Festival, Lula world Jazz Festival, Ontario Place, Celebration Square Music Festival, and a host of other festivals.
