CCC Chair – Consul General Henry Mangal’s Address at Guyana’s 57th Anniversary of Independence Flag Raising Ceremony

Newly appointed Caribbean Consular Corps Chair – Consul General Henry Mangal, delivered a riveting address, at Guyana’s 57th Anniversary of Independence Flag Raising Ceremony, which was held on Friday, 26th May 2023, at Toronto’s City Hall.

Consul General Mangal offered condolences to the Government and people of Guyana, for the nineteen (19) young lives that were lost, due to the Mahdia School fire, and expressed the Caribbean’s collective sorrow and solidarity with Guyana and the affected families.

He went on to celebrate Guyana’s greatness, as part of the Caribbean, hailing it, as not only the “Breadbasket of the Caribbean” but also as “a gem of excellence and resilience in the Caribbean”.

CG Mangal spoke on Guyana’s triumphs, through adversities, and also highlighted, in great detail, the country’s richness in both natural and human resources.

His message was lighthearted, informative and was well received, by all accounts.
