Caribbean Diplomats Hosted at Raptors 905 Home Game

Caribbean Consuls General Henry Mangal (Saint Lucia), Gerry Hopkin (Grenada), and Kurt Davis (Jamaica) were honored as courtside guests, at a thrilling NBA G-League matchup between Raptors 905 and the Detroit Cruise, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

The invitation was extended by John Wiggins Jr., CEO and Co-founder of Focused Dreams Forward Foundation, a Toronto-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through education, sports, and community engagement. Wiggins, a former Vice President for Organizational Culture and Inclusion with the Toronto Raptors, was joined in hosting by Courtney M. Charles, Vice President of Basketball and Franchise Operations for Raptors 905.

Consuls General Mangal, Hopkin, and Davis engaged in meaningful discussions with Wiggins and Charles, both of Caribbean heritage, exploring potential collaborations and opportunities to support and uplift Caribbean youth.

The event served not only as an exciting sporting experience but also as a valuable platform for networking, partnership-building, and fostering community connections.
