The High Commission of Canada in Bridgetown has officially launched its annual call for proposals, for the Canada Fund for Local Initiative (CFLI) 2022-2023.

The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects, in developing countries, which align with the Government of Canada’s thematic priority areas, for engagement. Canada’s 2022 – 2023 thematic priority areas for engagement include: gender equality, the empowerment of women and girls, human rights, democracy and inclusive governance, peace and security, climate action, and economic growth.

The majority of CFLI funding is directed toward local civil society organisations (including non-governmental organisation) and other institutions working at the local level. The CFLI is looking to fund innovative projects that deliver measurable results, with a project funding range of up to CAD$50,000. All FY2022-2023 projects must be completed within two years, between the date of signature of the Contribution Agreement and February 28th, 2024.

The High Commission of Canada invites local, national, or regional civil society organisations, academic institutions and government agencies in Saint Lucia, to submit their project proposal for consideration, to the CFLI Committee, by 23:59 AST, on Friday, October 28th, 2022.
