The High Commission of Canada in Bridgetown has officially launched its annual Call for Proposals, for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) for 2023-2024.
The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries, which align with the Government of Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. Canada’s 2023 – 2024 thematic priority areas for engagement include:
- peace and security, with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace;
- gender quality and the empowerment of women and girls, including supporting evidence-based policymaking, legal frameworks, and program delivery for gender equality; and,
- inclusive governance, including diversity and LGBTQI+, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
The majority of CFLI funding is directed toward local civil society organisations (including non-governmental organisation) and other institutions working at the local level. The CFLI is looking to fund innovative projects that deliver measurable results with a project funding range of up to CAD$50,000. All projects must be completed within two years, between the date of signature of the Contribution Agreement and February 28, 2024.
The High Commission of Canada invites local, national or regional civil society organisations, academic institutions and Government agencies in Saint Lucia, to submit their project proposal for consideration to the CFLI Committee, by 23:59 AST, on Friday, 05th, 2023.
Interest organisations should contact the High Commission of Canada via email at cfli.bar.oecs@gmail.com to request and application package.
